Skatepark Renovations

In early 2021, Zach approached SECA about modernizing the Skatepark and raising the funds needed to do so.  In August of that year, Zach organized and hosted the first “Quarryville Skate Jam”:  Contests, raffles, 50/50, musicians, food trucks, vendors…and lots of fun!  The event was a huge hit with the community.

“Winter Wagon” was held in February 2022 at one of the Solanco Fairground’s buildings; another successful fundraiser for the skatepark by 5KATEWAGON!

The 2nd Annual Quarryville Skate-Jam was held on June 11, 2022 and was bigger and better with mens & womens trick contests for beginner, intermediate and advanced; games of Skate Roulette and Wheel & Truck for everyone to win prizes!  Musical entertainment was provided by:  Chumps, The Grip, & Shaw CalhouneOola Bowls & OMG Donuts were on site with their amazing foods! So many awesome vendors, too!!  Yet another successful event, thanks to Zach!!

With just over $2,000 short of funds to begin phase 1 of the skatepark renovations, Zach started a “Go Fund Me” in August.  He also hosted a “Pop Up” event on August 20 for another push to get those funds!

Below are some pictures that Zach has shared with us from the various events he has held.  You can find more photos and info on his Instagram Page:  SKATEWAGON!

Plans for Phase 2 of renovations are in the works!  Once we the plan is finalized, we will post.  If you would like to make an online donation to help with “Phase 2” of skatepark renovations, Go to our DONATIONS page, choose the amount you would like to contribute-(you can choose multiple amounts if you wish!) and proceed to the checkout.  Be sure to type “Skatepark” in the “additional information” spot for notes, so it goes straight to the skatepark fund!  Cash and check donations can also be made directly to SECA.  Checks should be made out to “SECA” with “Skatepark” on the memo line, and can be mailed to:  SECA, c/o Skatepark Fund, PO Box 67, Quarryville, PA 17566.  Donations are tax deductible.  Please let the office know if you need a receipt.

SECA wishes to thank Zach for all of his hard work to make the skatepark great for our community!  Thank you to all of the event supporters and donors, as well!  May the SECA Skatepark continue to provide fun and recreation to all who visit for many years to come!
